Sundweesh
During #parralanes, I decided to visit Sundweesh (or the way my mother would say sandwich as though it was an Arabic word). The stall produces some of Sydney's yummiest Middle Eastern influenced street food wrapped up in soft rounds of Lebanese bread. Fillings include;
Kafta, Tabouli and Hummus $12
Chicken & Peri Peri slaw $10
Asian slaw & Hoisin Kewpie mayo $10
Vegetarian chickpea mix $10
After suffering a sugar coma, I decided to have the Kafta Sundweesh to balance my palate. I'm so glad I did. I really admired the authenticity of the food. The Kafta tasted the same as the ones my mother makes for my family at family BBQ's; juicy, full of flavour and with lots of onion and parsley in the mixture. The tabouli, king of all Middle Eastern salads, was neatly seated on top of the rest of the succulent Kafta fingers. Finally, the silky smooth lashings of hummus that generously coated the bed of tabouli helped keep everything together. It was the icing on the Sundweesh.
